Breathing

​Our breathing is more than just staying alive. Conscious breathing can be used to generally improve our ‘life force’. Just focussing on the breath can distract us from worrying thoughts. The rhythm aids the ability to focus on it. We can add a thought of our own choosing to the breath, such as, ‘I breathe in the new’.  “I breathe out the old stories”. Or, “I breathe in new energy”, “I breathe out old tired energy’. It can be imagined in various ways. “I breathe in light”, “I breathe out light” in this way letting light flow from us. We can use this if we feel we want to give some light to the confused world!

Mindfulness
Another level is to step back from the way we perceive the world and see if we can turn around and see the situation in a more positive light. Our attitude reflects the way we think about things. As we change the way we think we change our attitude and in turn the way we perceive the world. As we we are able to shift our attitude we also may shift all aspects of our being. The stress level reduces and in turn there is less residual physical inflammation. Our body systems work better and our health, all things being equal may improve.

Mantra Meditation
Meditation, specifically Mantra Meditation, uses a simple neutral mantra to add to the rhythm of the breathing. This also begins to create a mind control that creates some space in our thinking.  It is in the mental stillness that we can go deeper into ourself. The key to Mantra Meditation is the breathing and adding to the breathing a simple mantra.  There are many mantras that can be used, usually the simpler the better. One universal mantra is ‘So ‘ham’. It is pronounced ‘so – hum’. It sounds similar to the breathing. ​

Affirmations

​Affirmations
There are two ways in which to see the purpose of affirmations. Both are helpful. The first is that these short statements redirect the part of our mind that programs our life experiences, responses and reactions. In time these sink into our life’s program.
The other is that these short statements actually reflect the true nature of who we really are. So the repetition slowly peels away the layers of conditioning that have dampened our creative loving self. Regardless of how we see them they are tools to our awakening. There are some very basic affirmations that can be repeated.

The mind is our thought tool
The mind is the tool, and it is so powerful that it is producing all of these things that are part of our life.
It is not really relevant whether it is a negative or positive thought but as it is creative, then we want to produce the best possible outcome for ourself and creation
Unfortunately we can feel powerless. But these thoughts are creating our part of the universe all the time, every second. Every thought we have is an energy of creation. Many of the thoughts we think we are not even aware of! We may or may not believe this, it doesn't matter, it happens anyway!

Be Here Now

- there is no where else!
​A lot of life energy is lost maintaining past pointless memories or over preparing for a future that never eventuates. This loss of energy may affect our health and deplete the body's energy. In simple terms stress keeps the 'fight or flight' response active. From our 'cradle' we have been shaped, by family, peers and culture. We have stored many experiences many of which may have been less than helpful. They create layers over our happy self. And of course it depends on how we interpret these experiences. Some can simply shrug them off, whilst for others they are devastating. No two people are the same.
