Compassion - A New Look

Know that the light in another person is the same as the light in yourself. As you have light in yourself, you know another person has that light. As you find your light sometimes dims, you know another person will also have their light dimmed.
AAnd that means that you are the same and yet you have totally different circumstances and experiences around all of that. It is the light within a person that you can have compassion for. But their story is something that you will not understand because you have not had their experience or their choices. 
And that's why indifference is important because if you get tangled up in their choices and stories you've missed the light. 
So finding compassion from yourself to another person is finding the light within you both. Then step back with indifference or detachment so that you don't get caught up in the tangle of their stories. That is a communication of the two lights, not the stories. You must not get embroiled in their story. That is why you step back with indifference. 
And as you see that, your media wants you to get involved in the story rather than just in the facts. This is where your emotions are stirred. And of course that causes a problem within your own body. Your emotions are going to trigger off those chemicals which can unbalance the energies in your body. 
So true compassion will bring healing. Yes, because it's an exchanging of energy at a deeper level. 
Yes, because the compassion that we are normally taught is involvement in the other’s story. 
That means you are going to rush in and be helpful when help is not going to be effective at all. 
It's essentially you want to be useful, therefore you want to be wanted. 
Yes, but what is triggering that? It is your emotion that is coming from your brain and then the pit of your stomach where you feel there is something there that is causing you great ‘pain’. 
And what is that pain? You are enmeshed in the story of someone else, that is the pain. You read about something that is maybe traumatic and that hits you in the pit of your stomach, and what is that? That is an emotion, and that is being attached because you have attached yourself to that pain which triggers off its chemical response. 
It's the process of your whole system, your energy systems all becoming immediately out of balance because you have stepped in rather than stepping back.
And in fact, that is not going to be helpful. Instead, step back, rise above it, tend to your own story and produce that light in your own story so that you can send it back to them.
