Meditation is a doorway to peace and quietness. By sitting still and focusing on the breath, the mind begins to slow down, letting go of restless thoughts. Each ‘in’ breath brings calm, each ‘out’ breath releases tension. Even a few minutes can create space between you and the noise of daily life. Over time, meditation trains awareness, helping you notice thoughts without being carried away by them. It is not about emptying the mind completely, but about resting gently in the present moment. In stillness, the heart softens, the body relaxes, and a deep sense of inner peace arises naturally.

Feeling a bit stuck lately? Not sure where life is going? Sometimes we give up and lock ourselves in. We resist change and find it difficult to adapt. This leaves us exposed, because as life continues on its path, we may feel very left behind. To adapt means to go with the flow. Take time to step back, be still and let that inner guidance support and strengthen you. Know in your deep self that you are truly loved, regardless. Be still and know.
We fluctuate between abundance and scarcity. Outside influences pull us into a glass-half-empty shape, as we focus on what we haven’t got. It is very subtle.
To turn this around, we can begin to change our attitude from one of scarcity to one of abundance. Create some time to step back and be quiet. In the quiet, focus and appreciate what you have, starting with the breath, the rhythm of life. See the breath as an energy source. Be a glass-half-full! People often ask what to do when the mind keeps wandering in meditation. I could say use the breath in the mantra, which, of course are useful tools.
But it can be much simpler than that. Just being silent and still helps you to free yourself from trying too hard. Relax and be calm. Breathe in a little stillness. Let the guided meditation create a space behind the thoughts. Relax and float on the breath. Be patient. It may take time to trust and open to the love within. Meditation can be frustrating sometimes. We tend to chase after remarkable, instant or wonderful experiences, and when they don’t happen, we feel disappointed. However simply give yourself some ‘me’ time to just rest, let go and be content with whatever is. We can simply enjoy being in that stillness which brings us peace and awareness. There is an inward connection in moments of stillness.
GM 326 Floating On The Breath
Everything breathes – but as humans, the breath has a much deeper implication. While breathing is basically a biological process, it can also bring a deeper self-awareness and a connection with body, mind, and spirit. In time this may take us to a place of stillness, a point of clarity and strength. At the very least, we can learn through our meditation to draw in fresh new energy, and let go, release the old tired energy as we float in the rhythm of our breathing. With all that is happening in our world today, humanity seems to be taking a step backwards. We know that this is not good enough, so is it a time to change our attitude and begin to grow again? There are promising green shoots emerging from the rubble. Time to change, time to be ready. Let us look to a new life, a life of joy and fresh energy.
We are so inclined to let other people’s problems crowd in on us, and we persist in holding onto all the stress that this causes. But there is far more to us humans than we can possibly imagine We have the capacity to bounce back to manage and overcome these difficulties. We have the opportunity to choose that which serves us best, but we need to let go, surrender and be guided by our inner pilot. Meditation is one of the methods we can use to create that quiet space behind the stream of thoughts and find that which we are looking for.
(A 10 Minute Guided Meditation)
This meditation is for you and for your journey. We humans are very resilient, in spite of the unrest and confusion we may be experiencing. We have the ability to step back and rise above it if we choose. This meditation may help you pause for a moment, relax and be calm. It’s hard not to be caught up in the unrest in our world at the moment. Our vision can become very clouded and judgemental. If we can manage to step back, rise above it and see the big picture, we just may be able to tend to our own story rather than trying to solve the world’s problems. Taking time to go within and seek that unseen wisdom of our true Self, can bring us clarity and detachment.
