Pathlight Meditation News Letter June - July 2024 Have We Lost our Song? For those in the Perth region we have had some good rain after a longer than average warm dry spell. Many of our local native trees have withdrawn their energy and gone into a sort of hibernation. We hope than many will be able to draw on the moisture and send out shoots of hope. We also can go into a sort of hibernation, dimming our sparkle and shifting to a survival mode. But we have this life to experience. It is not a punishment, though sometimes it may feel it is. To find our song again we find ways to enjoy ourselves. Sometimes we may leap into the short cuts but our roots need to go deep and draw on the ‘Being’ in Human. Find pathways to feel content in the self. Seek ways to feel secure in the recesses of who you are. Moments of quietness, stillness and solitude may be just what is needed in this present time. Old Wine In New Skins It can be very stimulating to put the ‘old wine into new skins’. There is a lot of wisdom and guidance and encouragement that has been given to human kind through the ages. Much of it was given to specific people in their traditions and their understanding of reality. As it is brought forward it needs to be adapted to where we are now. “We need to know how to charge an electric car not how to feed a donkey.” We currently record talks specifically on the Christian Tradition, that when freed from traditional and historical restraints come very close to our present way of thinking and very appropriate for managing our well being. These are definitely non threatening and are given in their raw state to a congregation. If you would like to go on the emailing list let us know. A New View Of Who We Are. We are consciousness wrapped in a narrative. May sound a little strange, but consider it, as it may begin a shift, a subtle shift in understanding many of the phrases bandied around. Some traditions avoid speaking on consciousness because consciousness ‘is’. When we think consciousness, it is for us an awareness that can observe the mind, those little glimpses and those random ‘aha’ moments. It begins to give us an understanding that we are something greater that has limited itself to give our earthly self the opportunity of choice which results in experience. Experience gives us an opportunity to have a full life. How we live that life does depend on the time we were born, the tradition we found ourselves in and many other factors. The good news is that within limitation we can shift the narrative to serve us better. By beginning to change our thoughts we can change our attitude. It is the attitude we have to our life that is the key to change. Nova Network Our GM Meditations can also be found on the Nova Network YouTube address.
